The Search for the Perfect Bridesmaid Dress!

I have been on the search for the perfect bridesmaid dress for my lovely ladies and I have to say it has been quite the challenge!I wanted a dress that was figure flattering but also comfortable and something the girls will be able to move in. I wanted to stay away from popular taffeta material that a lot of brides pick out because personally, I feel it is just so stiff and loud! I wanted something that had some type of floral on it and here is what I found...

AND THE WINNER IS.....

Now, picture this in a light sage green with a vintage flower broach on the satin band. I think it will look absolutely stunning and timeless on my girls! I think this dress with a little extra bling and accessories will truly represent the vintage glam feel that I am going for! What are your thoughts?Since the dress is set in stone I have been looking for vintage inspired jewelry.

Here is an expression board I created you can see some of the jewelery I found that I just love!

The 5 Year Plan

I was sitting on the couch the other day and it hit me that Tom and I will be getting married one day after the first day we met, 5 Years ago. None of this would make sense unless I told you the entire story, or at least briefs clips. Lets start with the first day.

Okay, I tell people this story about the pirate party because I am so proud of the end result. Those who attended will always remember the day I turned 21. I mean seriously, take a look at Leslie's costumes. We took our parties pretty seriously and because this was my 21st birthday- this one topped them all!

This was also the day I met Tom. Like I said...the end result.
After this night, which actually was October 1st Tom and I started our AIM/Online relationship.
It sounds juvenile, but it was all we had to work with since he was going to a different school.

So here is where the 5 year plan comes into place. Around the time we met both of us were tip toeing around the idea of being together, but we also wanted our freedom. We continuously said that we met at the wrong time and if only it was 5 years from now. But it wasn't. We both had unfinished business to do; school, traveling, living, learning. You Get the picture. So, jokingly we made a pact. We said that 5 years from now we would meet somewhere exotic. Mozambique was the place we always mentioned. As the years past we added more 'to do's for the big day; golfing, get a hut on the Indian ocean, get married. On that day we would meet five years from then and we would be what we always wanted, together.

I am a person who believes in faith, serendipity, whatever you want to call it. Tom and I were meant to be together. No matter how many oceans between us we have always found a way back to each other.

Here we are today, happy and thankful that we made it through all the obstacles. I stood by his side as Tom traveled to the Middle East and Africa. For the most part, Tom hung in there while I had my rebellion stage in California and Las Vegas.

October 2nd, 2010 the 5 year plan will come to rest. I will marry my best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime. I will marry the man who on the first night we met chucked my cell phone over the balcony, who still to this day gives me butterflies with his simple smile.

I can't wait for October. : )October 1st, 2005...The day it all began! October 2nd, 2010 The day it will begin all over again!
