THE ARTSY ONE
I hope everyone enjoyed their long holiday weekend! I know I did : ) I went back to my old roots for a minute. I dabbled in a little painting (See below). I took a candle light Yoga Class just a block away from where I live! So convenient. And I found a new TV station that I love! HGTV : )
Inspired Yoga is located right behind Meridian Park in this beautiful yellow antique building. It used to be the Embassy of Hungary- lots of history already! It was such a charming, relaxing environment. Candles were lit, incense were burning and my body was craving for a good stretch. A lot of folks think Yoga is about stretching and flexibility- which is exactly why I am going to make Tom, (my little trained bunny) take a class with me so he can see what Yoga is REALLY about.
Stretching, balancing, breathing and trying to find yourself in a calm state of mind is really difficult for first timers! Growing up I lived for dancing, so the balancing and flexibility aspect I have down, but breathing is my issue. It never really hit me that I wasn't suppose to gasp for air after every difficult move until I found Yoga a few years ago. It is a shame I stopped going, but
I am very excited to get back into it!
I will let you know how Tom's first session goes. It should be very interesting! (no pressure Tom, really)
Painting...
I am thrilled to get back in to painting as well. The last picture I painted was over a year ago for Tom's brother, Joe. It was a Christmas present his parents gave him. I loved that painting because I knew Joe could relate to the painting and give it that much more meaning. This year he is volunteering his time in Africa, which is where the inspiration for the picture came from. You can view it below in the picture of me and a few girlfriends.
I really enjoy the artsy things in life. It brings meaning to my life and to others. I would love to paint a little more while I am in DC. If anyone is interested, please shoot me a message on facebook or myspace I would be happy to discuss some ideas and save you a few dollars. Remember, Christmas is right around the corner- always a great original gift : )
xoxo- Ali
